Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), the eight-team competition was organized and supervised by the Dubai Club for People of Determination with the support of their strategic partners such as Dubai Sports Council and the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW) and governed by International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). Alongside hosts UAE, the participating countries were Morocco, Chinese Taipei, Turkey, Japan, South Africa, Thailand and Korea.
